Our story

About Bahe Australia Inc.

A registered not-for-profit association representing people from the Greater Rangpur region of northern Bangladesh living in Australia.

Who we are

Our story

Bahe Australia Incorporated is a registered not-for-profit association in New South Wales under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009. We represent people from the Greater Rangpur region of northern Bangladesh — Rangpur, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, and Gaibandha — who are now living in Australia.

The five districts of Rangpur are often likened to five bright stars, symbolising resilience, unity, and hard work. Despite life's challenges, the people of this region are known for their humility, compassion, and generosity.

The word "Bahe", a warm colloquial Bangla greeting, reflects these values of friendship, affection, and mutual respect. Founded on 24 June 2019, Bahe Australia Incorporated brings the community together under one umbrella through social, cultural, sporting, and community programs.

While our activities are primarily based in Australia, we are also committed to supporting initiatives that promote poverty alleviation, health, education, and employment opportunities in the Rangpur region of Bangladesh.
